Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
God's kind of love is vastly different from human emotional love. Love in our own efforts can only love that which is lovable. It only loves when it is loved. God's kind of love is able to love the unlovely. It's not a feeling, but is able to love on purpose and by choice.
Spend some time reviewing the list above. This is God's kind of love. It will challenge us, but is a good check list to see how we are doing in our love-walk.
One of the best definitions we've ever heard of God's kind of love is this: Giving people what the need the most when they deserve it the least.
God's forgiveness and salvation through Christ is available to you when you need it the most. And especially when you feel like you deserve it the least. Amen!
